
This weekend, the Fall Festival & Country Store at Jeter Farm kicks off the season with corn maze, hayride, pumpkin train, barnyard zoo, slides, games, and more. Jeter Farms is a 5th generation family farm in Botetourt County past Bonsack off of 460. Enjoy ice cream, local apple cider, fresh kettle corn, and on Saturday and Sunday grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, and roasted corn! The festival runs from September 25 to October 30th on Saturdays from 9AM-6PM and Sundas from Noon to 6PM. The farm is open for school field trips during the week. General admission is collected at the gate and you can learn more on their website.
You can mozy on down I-81 or take the backroads for Sinkland Farms 31st Annual Pumpkin Festival in Christiansburg. Enjoy live music, explore local vendors, or tour the grounds on horseback. Taste authentic southern barbeque, kettle corn, hand-dipped ice cream, and more. Grown-ups will enjoy a sampling of local beer and wine. Make it an adventure by getting lost in the corn maze. This festival goes from September 23rd to October 30th from 4-8PM on Thursday and Friday; and 10AM-5PM on Saturday and Sunday. A 10 acre corn maze, cow train, gemstone mining station, jumping pillow, and tunnel slide are a few of the traditions that keep kids begging to come back year after year. Layman's is also home to Fry Shack & Concession, serving pork BBQ or grilled chicken sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, smoked mac and cheese, chili, nachos, funnel cakes, fried oreos, tater ribbons, and more.
