Diversity is spelled R-O-A-N-O-K-E! We often hear from clients what a happy surprise it is to find such inclusive opportunities, cultural celebrations, authentic eateries, and a diverse population in our small, southern mountain city. One local organization, Latinas Network, is kicking off a month-long celebration of Hispanic Heritage this week!
Live music, luncheons, family friendly events, fundraisers, educational talks, and of course–amazing food–are all part of the wide ranging events planned between September 15th and October 15th as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. Latinas Network is partnering with local organizations and businesses to provide broad opportunities for the hispanic community to come together and to welcome in people from other cultures to learn more about this beautiful and welcoming community.
The kickoff celebration began at Leonore Restaurant in downtown Roanoke and will continue for the next several weeks at spots such as JStop Latin Soul, 2Chill Restaurant, Warren G Lineberry Community Park, Beliveau Winery, San Gerardo Ministerio Hispanico, the Taubman Museum, and more. Latinas Network has partnered with dozens of local businesses to provide locations, entertainment, and food. Guia Salsa Noke plays a big part by providing dance lessons and music at many events!
This celebration concludes on October 15th at Coco-Nuts, specializing in cupcake bouquets and custom cakes, at 1027 E. Main Street, Radford, for their Grand Opening! We're excited to enjoy all of these excellent events and want to congratulate the Latinas Network for pulling off such a successful collaborative series of events.
